Josiah Kenny Jones

Jones, Josiah “Kenny”, 89, of Christiansburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 15, 2017. Kenny was born in Floyd County, VA on December 3, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Perry and Bessie Graham Jones and one brother and one sister.

Kenny was a life-long employee of E.F.N. Trucking as a hard working mechanic. A quiet man that loved to tend his yard and was always available to help friends and family. He took great pride in his family’s accomplishments.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 67 years, Irene Lawson Jones; children Carolyn Stump (Neal), Mike Jones (Holly), and Brian Jones (Becky Sloan); grandchildren Beth (Sam) Lucas, Deborah Stump(Danny Obrien), Amy (Frankie) Williams; great grandchildren Bryan Caswell, Madison Lucas, Hannah Lucas, and Abbie Williams; special niece Patti Altizer (Alvie) and nephew Wayne Cox.

The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at New Hope Church of God. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
