EAST, JOYCE MARTIN, age 72, of Blacksburg, on Monday, May 29, 2006 God called one of His angels home.
She was born in Giles County, the daughter of the late Leonard and Vergie Martin; she was also preceded in death by her brother, B. J. Martin. She was a resident of Ellett Valley for 54 years. She was an active member of the Midway Community Holiness Church and a retired employee from Corning.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 54 years, Reuben T. East, Sr.; sons and daughter-in-law, Reuben T. East, Jr.; Michael L. & Kellie Anne East; daughters & son-in-law, Arama L. Wolfe & Jim Jachimski and Sherree East Thompson; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley M. & Bud Roop; special friends, Eddie & Alberta Sarver.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to her many friends of the Midway Holiness Church and neighbors in Ellett Valley for their care and concern.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home with Pastor Buck Yopp officiating. Interment will follow in North Fork Cemetery, Ellett Valley. The East Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, 382-2612.
