CORELL, JUANITA SISSON ?Nita?, age 99 of Christiansburg, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.
She was a charter member of the Shawsville White Memorial United Methodist Church, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolutionary War, and the Christiansburg Eastern Star. She worked for many years as a dedicated first grade school teacher and had a great love for history, family, art, music, and flowers. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Burnett Corell, daughter-in-law, Joretta Bullough Correll. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Joann C. & Robert Simms; son, Charles Shelburn Correll; grandchildren, Jacqueline Sue Hicks and her husband, Michael Leath; Amy Louise Treat and her husband, Commander Michael Vincent; Carl Brian Correll; great grandchildren, Brandon Michael Hicks, Nathan Robert Treat, Kevin Michael Treat; sister, Ruby Sisson Johnston; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18th at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19th, 2005 at the White Memorial United Methodist Church at Shawsville with Rev. Norman Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, P. O. Box 630243; Baltimore, MD 21263-0243. The Corell Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
