Juanita June Spangler Earles, 100 years old, of Christiansburg, VA, went home to her Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2011.
She was born in Floyd, VA, on July 2, 1911.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin C. Earles. She is survived by her daughter, Shelby Jean Altizer, of Christiansburg; granddaughter, Sherrie L. Altizer, of Christiansburg; grandson, Denny Altizer & wife, Renee; great-granddaughters, McKenzie P. Altizer and Katelyn O. Altizer, all of Riner; brother, Sam Spangler, of Roanoke; sister, Betty Keith, of Holland, Michigan; sister-in-law, Elsie Spangler, of Floyd. Thanks to the Carilion Hospice staff, Sherry Reed and Cindy Powell, as well as to her special caregiver, Pat Lovern.
Mrs. Earles was a school teacher for 30 years at the Pilot School and Auburn Elementary School. She loved family, cooking, church, gardening/flowers and quilting.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 24, 2011, from 5-7 pm at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at 2:00 pm at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Elbert Naff officiating. Interment will follow at St. Matthews Cemetery, Floyd, VA.
