Judy Kaye Wimmer, 57, of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012. She was born on September 7, 1955.
She is survived by her parents, Alvin Ray & Marie June Vest Wimmer; her sister, Janet Raye; as well as many special aunts, uncles and cousins.
Judy was a very involved member of the Huffville United Methodist Church. She had been employed by Duncan Automotive Group for 28 ½ years. She loved to knit, bowl and sing. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines and devoted much time, serving on the Board of Directors of the Golden Triangle Women’s Bowling, which merged and became the New River Valley USBC.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Church family, to her caregivers, Cinda McCoy and Carol Clower, as well as the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and the staff of the DC/MD/VA Chapter of the ALS Association. Also special thanks to the Up & At ‘Em Bowling League for all of their support and assistance.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 5th at 1 pm at the Huffville United Methodist Church, 1078 Huffville Road, Pilot, with Pastor Darren Landon officiating. Interment will follow in Huffville Cemetery.
