Julia Nixon Styne, 93, departed her earthly life on February 2, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Roanoke, VA to the late Dr. Samuel H. Nixon and Gertrude Altizer Nixon. She was preceded, in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert J. Styne, and brother Samuel H. Nixon Jr.
She was a member of the Christiansburg High School Class of 1948 and graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1952. She was also a member of The UT Prosim Society & the Legacy Society of VT.
She was a member of the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church from the age of 12. She was also a member of the Christiansburg Book Club and she enjoyed doing volunteer work at The Free Clinic.
Julie is survived by her daughter, Kathryn S. Jones. Her son, Robert "Rob" J. Styne Jr. and wife, Beth. Surviving grandchildren include Daniel E. Styne and wife Amanda, Kerri S. Willis and husband Josh, Andrew G. Jones, Great-granddaughters Kaylee Willis, Lillian Willis and Lucy Styne.

The funeral will be held at the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church on February 9, 2024 at 1:00. Visitation of friends and family at 12:00-1:00. A private burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
