KING, KATIE SUE WEAVER, age 91, of Christiansburg, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004 in a Clarksburg, WV nursing home.
She was a graduate of Radford College in the 1930's and taught school in Del Ray Beach, FL. and Montgomery County, VA for a number of years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The daughter of the late Joseph L. and Clyde Akers Weaver she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret L. Weaver and Mary Alma Board and her husband of fifty-five years Evans L. King, Sr. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Evans L. "Buddy" King, Jr. and wife, Joyce, Clarksburg, WV; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Anne King, Charlottesville, VA, Laura Kathryn King, Blacksburg, VA.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Monday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the graveside in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24068 or the Christiansburg Fire Department, 110 Depot Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073. The King family is being served by Horne Funeral & Cremation Service, Christiansburg, VA.
