Kenneth Large, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, left is earthly home and gained his angel wings on August 4, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nyoka Large; brothers, Roy Lee Large, Jimmy Large; and sister, Nancy Artrip.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melissa Kittinger Large; stepdaughters, Reba Hamlett (Chris), Cierra Standifur (Isaac – special nephew); step-son, Samuel Josiah Kittinger, of the home; daughter, Zida Dixie Large, of the home; siblings, Nora Marie Moore, Frankie Delaney, Howard Large, Kenneth ‘Burr’ Large (Christy), and Jeraldine Kilgore (Joe). Also mourning his loss are special niece, Cheyenne Lucas (Adam); many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; in-laws, Samuel and Debra Kittinger; sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Patrick Palmer; as well as special friends, Billy and Donna Agee, Tim Ratliff, Randy and Irene Leech.
Kenneth was a coal miner, where he worked for coal mines a little over 40 years. He loved to run heavy equipment and work on his farm after his retirement from Roanoke County.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. at Riverview Holiness Church. The Funeral Service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Jason Meredith and Pastor Keith Graves officiating.
