Kenneth Lee Slusher, 83, of Riner went to his heavenly home on Friday, February 2, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born in Riner on August 14, 1934, to the late Velmar and Mary Bell Fulford Slusher. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Bolding, Frances Keith, and Ida Mae Moses.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Kincaid Slusher; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Wes Bishop; grandsons, Jonathan Bishop and Matthew Bishop, all of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Doris Kitts and Ernestine Spencer of Christiansburg, Pauline Caldwell of Radford; brothers, James Slusher of Floyd, Carl Slusher of Riner, and Mike Slusher of Concord, NC.
The family would like to express our profound gratitude to Pastor T. Michael Bond and the nurses at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
Visitation will be held at the New hope Church of God on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Church of God with Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will take place at the Southwest Virginia Veteran's Cemetery.
