Kenneth Andrew Spano, M.D., age 70, passed away November 7, 2014.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Christine (nee Smith), beloved son of the late Grace (nee Monaco) and Frank, cherished brother of Adelaide.
Dr. Spano graduated from St. Johns University (New York) and George Washington Medical School. He served two years with the United States Navy in Beaufort, South Carolina. He joined the Euclid Clinic Mednet in 1975 and University Hospital in 1994. He practiced General Surgery, Thoracic and Chest for 27 years. After retirement, he taught Surgical Anatomy at Case Western Medical School for 9 years. He was president of The Shoreby Club for 3 years and on the Board of Newport Harbor Association for 10 years.
The family requests no flowers, but instead, contributions may be made to Seidman Cancer Center, 11100 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 ATTN: Dr. Marcos DeLima.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Monday, November 10, 2014 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 15000 Lake Shore Blvd., at 11:00 AM. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Dr. Spano at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) on SUNDAY from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Graveside service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Northfork Baptist Cemetery, in Ellett, VA.
