Lawrence D Rasnick

Lawrence D. Rasnick, 95, of Christiansburg passed away November 17, 2017. Lawrence retired after 34 years at RAAP. He also spent many happy years working at Melton & Marshall Oil Company in Dublin. He always loved the outdoors, walking almost everyday in Christiansburg. He loved tending his flowers and his small garden. Lawrence loved baking and preserving and sharing with all his neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Horton Rasnick; parents, George and Martha Rasnick; and 8 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Bobby Rasnick and wife, Peggy, David Rasnick, Mary Sue Carter, Donna Ward and husband, Jim, Millie Saul and husband, Jim; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 20 at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Rasnick officiating. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Christiansburg Rescue Squad, 190 Depot St. W., Christiansburg, VA 24073.
