Lettie Minnick

d. June 1, 2010

Minnick, Lettie Pearl Ruff, WD4-APV-“Patches”, 62, of Christiansburg, passed away May 31, 2010. She was many things to many people, a shining light in all of our lives.

She was a wife, a sister, an aunt, a granny, and a friend to all who crossed her path in this life. She loved to spend time along the riverbank with a fishing pole in hand and a picture was all the proof she needed of her successes. Lettie was a devoted member of the N.R.V. Amatuer Radio Club and an avid supporter of various local charities(fire, rescue, and police depts.) She is preceded in death by her parents, Odie and Lelia Ruff; and her sister, Jane Ruff.

Mrs. Minnick is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 40 years, Douglas B. Minnick. They were the love of their lives. She is also survived by her step father, William (Pa Bill) King, Sr.; sisters, Myrtle Reeder, of Christiansburg, Dorothy and Wayne Gordon, of Bedford; brothers, Garland Ruff and Edna, of Ohio, William and Kathy Ruff, of Florida, Roger Ruff, of Roanoke, Danny and Jeannette, of Roanoke, Glenn Ruff, of Richmond, Johnny Ruff, of Roanoke, Tommy and Cindy Ruff, of Roanoke, and William (Billy) and Dee King, Jr., of Montvale; bestest buddy, Shelby Myers; friends, Tony, Leann, Nikki, and Amanda Cook; numerous nieces and nephews.

Not a day will go by that we won’t think of her and a “smiley face” will not come to mind. Her life was lived to the fullest and she always tried to see the best in us all but her greatest gift was her devoted love she gave to her husband, Doug for 40 years. They started out so young and in love and still were to this day. God Speed Lettie. We’ll all miss you. The family wishes to thank all that assisted with her care and the staff on 2nd floor of Montgomery Regional Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 at Horne Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Horne Funeral Chapel with Bishop Mike Correll officiating. Interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
