Lettie Parker

Lettie Marie Vaughn Parker, 73, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on October 11, 2011 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born on July 14, 1938. Lettie bravely struggled against her illness as she continued to be a loving wife and mother. She spent much of her life caring for others and most recently retired from her job at Falling Branch Elementary School, a job she loved. She was predeceased by her parents, Elsie Gautier Vaughn and William Jake Vaughn; and siblings, Blanche Blankenship, Jack Blankenship and June Vaughn. Lettie is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bobby Gene Parker, of Christiansburg; daughters, Sharon L. Stoots of Dublin, Karen L. Wilson & husband, Donnie of Christiansburg, and Patty J. Bandy of Christiansburg; son, Joe Parker & wife, Cindy of Christiansburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brooks Stoots of Dublin, Brittaney Bandy, Jake Wilson, Kennedy Wilson, J. P. Parker, Dawn Parker and Jessica Parker, all of Christiansburg; sisters, Louise Worrell of Norfolk, VA, and Dawn Bowman of Dublin; special cousin, Jesse Cooper of Connecticut; nieces and nephews and her loving pet, “Troubles”. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, 2011, from 6-8 pm at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 11 am at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. A special thanks to Dr. White, Dr. Beato and all of the wonderful nurses and staff on the 2nd floor of Montgomery Regional Hospital.
