ROSS, LINDA FITZGERALD, age 52, of Christiansburg, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 10, 2005 at Montgomery Regional Hospital after a long and courageous battle of more than twenty-five years with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was a dedicated volunteer with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Blue Ridge Chapter as well as many other local and civic organizations.
She is survived by her father Gordon Davis Fitzgerald and mother Doris Gilliam Fitzgerald; husband Dr. Burton ?Blake? Ross; son and daughter-in-law, Brian Grey and Eleanor Watson Ross, of Richmond, VA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Zane Grey and Eva Burton Ross; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David Courtney and Wanda Buckland Ross; niece and nephews, Sarah Courtney Ross, Stuart Tyree Ross, Michael David Ross and wife, Katie Satterwhite Ross, all of Richmond, VA; companion and caregiver Shirley Lockhart, nursing care provider Tracy Stewart.
The family would also like to express special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Montgomery Regional Hospital and Carilion Home Health personnel for their professional care. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, August 12th at the Horne Funeral Home. Following Linda?s wishes the body will be cremated and there will be a private funeral service conducted at a later date.
