WALTERS, LINDA B., 59, of Christiansburg, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2007 after almost a year long battle with glioblastoma multiforma cancer. She was born on February 12, 1948. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Harris; father, Leland Buck; sister-in-law, Eleanor Gibson, and brother-in-law, Lindy Doyle. She leaves behind her husband of twenty years, James R. Walters, sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Phil Burton of Mason, WV; brother, Joe Gibson of Radford, VA; brother, John Harris; sister, Evelyn Waits of Louisville, KY; brother-in-law and wife, Chuck & Judy Walters of Blacksburg; brother-in-law and wife, Clyde & Audrey Walter of NC; sister-in-law, Patricia Walters of Christiansburg, VA; and sister-in-law, Peggy Hurt of Hiawassee, VA. Also surviving are her seven children, Brian Wilson and wife, Robin of Fairlawn, VA; Amy Wilson Hurt and husband, Kevin of Willis, VA; Elicia and Steven Bowles of Roanoke, VA; Greta Walters and fiancé Little Joe Early of Christiansburg, VA; James R. (Pete) Walters, II and Frances Coberly of Christiansburg, VA; Bruce Walters and Timothy Walters both of Blacksburg, VA; thirteen grandchildren, Lauren Wilson, Luke Wilson, Emma Wilson, Abigail Wilson, Anna Wilson, Grace Wilson, William Hurt, Nathan Hurt, Amanda Blair, Dustin Walters, Zachary Dunford, Brandon Walters, Elissia Walters; one great grandchild, Tayton Britton and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank her spiritual family at the Belview United Methodist Church, all her special friends, caregivers, and Carilion Hospice for all their prayers and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Belview United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at Belview United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
