Loretta Elaine Furrow, of Elliston, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, after suffering with cancer.
Loretta was a very loving and devoted Mom and Mamaw. She loved her family and neighbors. She retired from Wolverine in Blacksburg, after 30 years of hard work. Loretta enjoyed her soap operas, game shows, and playing games on the radio.
Loretta had a lot of sorrow in her lifetime that only made her the strongest Mom and Mamaw someone could be. She will never be forgotten and only loved more every day.
Preceding her in death are her daughters, Sandra Akers and Pam Furrow; son, Wade Furrow; husband, Alvin Furrow; grandchildren, Bobbie Leigh Moses and Denny Akers. She leaves behind her daughter, Tammy Walters; son, Ricky Furrow; grandchildren, Samantha Shepherd and her husband Matthew, Dillon Walters, Derek Price, Tiffany Furrow Ratcliffe, and Daniel Furrow; great-grandchildren, Brook and Brandi Shepherd, Jacob, Haily, and Hunter Ratcliffe, and Harmony Furrow; as well as a son-in-law, Dennis Akers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Gearheart Family Cemetery, with Pastor Dusty Etter officiating.
