Lorraine Scarberry

Scarberry, Lorraine (Peggy) Lowe, 71, of Blacksburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2009. She was born in Richlands, VA on April 28, 1938 to the late Clarence Newton and Plyme Ellen Dawson Lowe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Scarberry; son, Roger D. Scarberry; sisters: Betty Jo Lowe Keene, Lissie Francis Rose, Donna Shella Lowe; and brothers: Ronnie Jeffery Lowe and Clarence Newton Lowe, Jr.

She is survived by her children: Phillip L. Scarberry and wife Debbie of Dublin, VA, Dora Collins-Hicks of Christiansburg, VA, Michael A. Scarberry of Christiansburg, VA, and Robin Scarberry-Tolbert and Paul Sikes of Blacksburg, VA; brothers: Beryl Thomas (Tommy) Lowe, Teddy John Lowe, and Freddie Don Lowe, all of Atwell Mountain, WV, David Edward Lowe and wife Cathy of Jackson, GA, Douglas Ray Lowe and wife Kathy of Raysal, WV, and Franklin Clifford Lowe and wife Connie of Tazwell, VA; sistersVirginia Mae (Jean) Hampton and husband Don of Pensacola,FL, Rosa Lea Stacy of Lexington, NC, Shirley Ann Johnson and husband B.J. of Bartley, WV, Lydia (Nancy) Dawson and husband Henry of Maiden, NC,Glenda Sharon Mullett of Lawndale, NC, and Patricia Delphine Payne and husband David of Lexington, NC; nineteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend and brother-in-law, Blaine Keene of Princeton, WV; and dear friend, Jesse Black of Reston, VA

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:00 am from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Pastor David Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday November 16, 2009 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home.
