Lydia Thornton Millirons, 88, of Riner, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. She was the devoted wife of Glenn Millirons, and along with her husband, was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest W. and Dora Mae Thornton.
Lydia was a loving and caring aunt and a longtime member of Sydney Methodist Church and ready participant of the Lord’s Acre Sales. She was the hub of many family get-togethers and helped many in need. As the widow of a World War II veteran, the family welcomes anyone who would like to attend her services to show honor and respect for our veterans and their widows.
Lydia is survived by her brother, James Thornton and wife Tressie of Floyd; sister, Eva Sutphin of Christiansburg; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Sydney Methodist Church in Riner, with Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Farris Cemetery, Riner.
