Margaret Joyce Kazee Muncy

Margaret Joyce Kazee Muncy, 78, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 23, 2015. Born in Logan, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Richard L. Kazee and Christina Hardinger Kazee Ross. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Muncy III; and brother-in-law, James E. Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Karen Reed and husband, Rick, of Flagler Beach, Florida; step-son, Charles (Chuck) P. Muncy IV, of Christiansburg; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Annette M. and Bobby Sherrill of Chester, Elizabeth M. and Matthew Smyers of Richmond; grandchild, Christopher McCann and wife, Elizabeth, of Radford; step-grandchildren, Morgan and Lauren Sherrill, Ellie, Luke and Caroline Smyers; great-grandchildren, Currin and Colt McCann; brother, Richard M. Kazee Sr. and wife, Pamela, of Christiansburg; sister, Elizabeth K. Williams of Logan, West Virginia; niece, Carrie K. Crawford and husband, Ray, of Roanoke; nephew, Richard M. Kazee Jr. of Roanoke; niece, Cristina W. Maynor of Logan; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews; and Molly, her precious little four-legged friend.

Margaret retired from Virginia Tech where she worked for over 25 years in the Controller’s Office. She was a member of Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and was an avid Hokie fan. The family would like to give special thanks for their kindness and consideration to the following: Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Heritage Hall and Staff for the care and love that she received, Southern Care Hospice, Dr. McCoy and Blue Ridge Cancer Care, Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and very special thanks Pastor Gary McCoy.

Per the instruction of Mrs. Muncy, a graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, November 30, at the Bland Cemetery in Bland County.
