Marquitta Shrader

d. January 4, 2010

Shrader, Marquitta Diane Bradford, 48, of Elliston left this earth on Sunday, January 3, 2010 to join her heavenly Father and other family members in Heaven.

Those there to greet her were her beloved mother, JoAnne Moses Bradford; grandson, Kyle Anthony Shrader; niece, Chelsea Raines; and grandparents Gladys and Harvey Cook, Arthur Moses, and Frank and Pearlie Bradford. Born on August 15, 1961 she was the love of her husband’s life, Mark Shrader, whom she shared 31 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by other family members – father, Harold Bradford of Elliston; brother, Danny Bradford and wife Teresa of South Carolina; sisters, Donna Raines and husband Lonnie; and Drema Foster and husband Tim, all of Shawsville; son, Mark Shrader, Jr. and family Alison, Sara, and Dale Shrader, all of Christiansburg; mother and father-in-law, Harry and Nettie Shrader; brothers-in-law Roger Heartless and girlfriend Sandi and Fred Shrader and wife Sharon, all of Elliston, as well as their children. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews, Brandon Bradford, Jodi Bradford Wilcher, Chad Raines, Courtney Raines, and J.T. Foster.

She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Diane loved her work at the Brookemeade Retirement Center, and was loved by her patients and co-workers. She worked there for 10 years and made many friends, including a special life-long friend, Dorothy Bowles.

The family wishes to thank the members of the Shawsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, along with Clyde Hodges, for working tirelessly to try to revive her.

Visitation will be held on January 5, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. The funeral will be held on January 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Horne Chapel with Eugene Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Reesedale Cemetery in Ironto.
