Mary Jean Callahan, 85, of Blacksburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2011.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook, bake and play bingo with her friends at Warm Hearth Village. Mary was also a Gold Star Mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Klotz & Kathryn Pokryzwa Klotz; her husband, Raymond Walter Callahan, Sr.; sons, Raymond Walter Callahan, Jr. (KIA 1969 Vietnam), Ronald Lee Callahan; and her brother, Edward Klotz.
She is survived by her children, Richard & Carrie Callahan of Dublin, VA and Laura & Jon Barron of Montpelier, VA; daughter-in-law, Nancy Callahan; grandchildren, Cristy & Todd Rasko, Eron & Crista Callahan, Chad & Julie Callahan, Raymond Callahan, Lynsey Callahan, Elaina Barron & Joel Barron; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Phillip, Kylie, Patrick, Ana & Shane; sisters, Francis Kohan and Helen Lundbeck; plus many special family members and friends.
A private celebration of life will be held at Ozog Funeral Home in Johnstown, PA, on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Warm Hearth Foundation, Neighbors in Need Fund, 2607 Warm Hearth Drive, Suite 100, Blacksburg, VA 24060.
