Mary Louise Puckett Hagan

June 11, 1936 — December 25, 2017

Mary Louise Puckett Hagan (Louise), of Christiansburg, born June 11, 1936, was healed on December 25, 2017, and went to join her heavenly Father and her beloved husband, Bernie.

Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bernard F. Hagan; her grandson, Kyle Hagan; her parents, Milford and Cansada Puckett; her sisters, Christine King, Joyce Mustard, Elizabeth Richardson, Beula Hall; and her brother, Clarence Puckett.

Louise is survived by her children, Marcelle Hanauer, David Lee Hagan (Judy), Beverly Wheeler (Buddy), Terry Hagan, and Chuck Hagan (Mary); son, Donald Hanauer; grandchildren, Donald Hanauer II, James Hanauer, Matt Hagan (Rachel), Jessica Weatherington (Shawn), Tonya Westmoreland (Tony), Jessica Murdock (David), Tyler Hagan, Travis Hagan (Amber), Tanner Hagan, Toby Hagan, D J Lewis, Daniel Hagan, John Michael Olney, Allison Hanauer; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sue Neff (Danny); brothers, Milford Puckett (Helen) and William Ray Puckett (Connie); sisters-in-law, Ruby Estep (Mac), Carol Pauley, and Betty Hagan; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and her Spiritual Sister, Sharon Duncan.

Louise fought a courageous battle with cancer for more than 12 years and her strength was amazing. She was always happy to share with others what God could do and had done for her and her family. She was a witness and a blessing to all who knew her, she showed love and kindness to everyone she met.

She was always active in her church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School when she could and her church family was very special to her.

Our Mother treated us as her greatest gifts, but she was our greatest gift. ‘She is more precious than jewels and nothing you desire compares to her’ Proverbs 3:15. She was loved by many.

A special thank you goes out to Pastor Ronald Smith of Childress Church of God and to her team at Intrepid Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Judes.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 12-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Ronald Smith and Pastor Ronald Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
