Mary Maxie Dickerson Jewell, born May 9, 1923, in Indian Valley, VA, went to be with the Lord peacefully on January 7, 2015, at her home in Christiansburg.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles W. Jewell; her parents, John and Eva Dickerson; her son-in-law, George Stewart; three brothers; and five sisters. She is survived by her son, Charles W. Jewell, Jr. and wife, Olga of Woodlawn, VA; daughters, Peggy Jewell of Christiansburg, Janet Epperly of Christiansburg, Mary Stewart of Fairlawn; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.
Our hearts were broken today but you’re in a beautiful placed with no more pain. We all love you Mom.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10, 2015, from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, with Charles Jewell, III officiating.
