Mary Marie Kitts

Mary Marie (Lane) Kitts, born November 14, 1927, passed away peacefully and entered into heaven on Monday, October 11, 2018, at the Radford Health and Rehab Center at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Henry Kitts of almost 45 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Oakley S. Lane and Macy Marie (Blankenship) Lane. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thurman Stephen Lane; and sisters, Helen Lena Lane Hudson East, and Kathleen May Lane Sturdivant.

She is survived by her daughters, Louise Dyer (and husband Richard) of Nashville, Tennessee; and Ruth Bramblett (and husband Rick) of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by her sister, Hester Angel (Peggy) Lane Taylor of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina.

She will be remembered for her green thumb tending to her flowers, and for her love of animals, especially Sierra (a pit bull/boxer mix) and Rhudi (a collie mix). She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ellet Valley.

Many thanks to her closest family and friends who visited and called during her short stay at the Radford Health and Rehab Center, Radford Health and Rehab Center staff, Medi Home Health and Hospice, and Warm Hearth at Home. A viewing is scheduled Saturday, October 27 from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Horne Funeral in Christiansburg. Funeral services will immediately follow with interment at Sunset Cemetery. Russell Shepherd will officiate.
