Long, Mary Francis Blake, 85, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010.
She was born April 29, 1925 in Arkansas to the late Riley L. and Pauline Foster Blake. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Thomas Long, sister, Maxine Hanzlik, two grandchildren, and son-in-law, Woody Blevins.
She is survived by daughters, Sharon Akers and husband Wayne, Janice Blevins all of Christiansburg, and Sandra Hawks and husband Phillip of Dublin; grandchildren, Angela Holcomb of Arkansas, Marty Hawks of AZ, Andy Hawks of Dublin, Lisa Grubb of Christiansburg, David Hawks of NC, Tammy Sarver of Roanoke, Mark Blevins, Pam Smith, and Trish Colley all of Christiansburg; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Juanita Bacus and husband Don of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Carilion Hospice and Valorie Adams and the Cozy Home staff.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home and at all other times at the home of Sharon and Wayne Akers. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
