NOLAN, MARY FAITH, 67, of Christiansburg, VA, died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at a Roanoke hospital.

She was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN where she graduated from Notre Dame High School. She later attended Nazareth College in Bardstown, KY where she earned an Associate Arts degree in Elementary Education. She made her home in Winston-Salem, NC for 26 years.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years Joseph Brownlee Nolan; daughters, Mary Summer Fulcher, Raleigh, NC; Sarah Elizabeth Allen, Vail, AZ; Christy Faith Nolan, Greensboro, NC; and Grace Marie Wilkins, Garner, NC; sons Joseph Brownlee, Jr., Lynchburg, VA; Timothy Patrick, Christiansburg, VA; Kevin Michael, Greensboro, NC, and Matthew Thomas, Winston-Salem, NC; 12 grandchildren; sister, Therese Anne Wehunt, Chattanooga, TN; brothers Charles Chamberlin, III, Chattanooga, TN; Bruce Chamberlin, Kingsport, TN; Kevin Chamberlin, Lynchburg, VA; Dan Chamberlin, Atlanta, GA; Larry Chamberlin, Houston, TX, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Beatrice Chamberlin.

Two of her greatest joys in life were her family and her church. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She worked diligently in the background, quietly reaching out to others. Throughout the years, she was especially involved with her church, and her children?s parochial schools. She gladly helped wherever she was needed, volunteering as a den mother, teacher, class chaperone, seamstress, and much more. She loved flowers and gardening, and created floral arrangements for the church. Mary Faith was a bookseller at the Book Nook in Winston-Salem, NC and later worked as assistant manager at Waldenbooks at New River Valley Mall. She was a founding member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Christiansburg, VA. She had an inspiring faith and generous spirit, always opening her heart and often her home when needed.

The family will be receiving friends at their home on 103 Park Street, Christiansburg, VA, Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2005 with Father John A. Prinelli officiating. There will be a gathering following the service. The Nolan Family is being served by Horne Funeral & Cremation Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
