Christiansburg

Marylee Wehrman Bush, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, left this world peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on November 5, 1944, in the small town of Wren, Mississippi, Marylee dedicated her life to nurturing those around her with kindness and generosity.

Marylee's journey through life was marked by her unyielding spirit and her deep commitment to her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Bush, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised two devoted sons, Michael (Amanda) Bush and Kevin (Lacy) Bush, who carry on her legacy of compassion and strength. Marylee was also the proud grandmother of five grandchildren: Harrison, Hampton, Helen, Karly, and Max, as well as a cherished great-grandmother to Holt. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

For 30 years, Marylee served the community through her work with Montgomery County Social Services, where her kind-hearted nature shone brightly. Her dedication to helping others was evident in all aspects of her life. In addition to her professional career, Marylee was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Christiansburg, where she found solace and community. She also enjoyed participating in the Red Hat Society, where she embraced the joy of friendship and fun. Marylee's passions included gardening, a hobby that allowed her to nurture the earth as she did her family. She found great joy in listening to Elvis, whose music filled her home with warmth and happiness. Reading was another cherished pastime, providing her with the escape and adventure she loved. Above all, Marylee valued the time spent with her family, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Those who knew Marylee will remember her for her kindness, her generosity, and her unwavering support for those she loved. Her warmth and light touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the incredible life she led and the love she shared so freely. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry August and Ernest Lee Wehrman, as well as her sister, Gloria Duncan; brother, Roy Wehrman; niece, Lorie Kemp; and nephew, William Duncan. Their memories will forever be a part of her story.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mona Osborne, Dr. Leslie Badillo, and Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care and support provided to Marylee. Marylee Wehrman Bush will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace, knowing she has left a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will continue to inspire all whose lives she touched.
