Max Nichols

Rev. Max Dwayne Nichols, Servant of the Most Holy God Rev. Max Dwayne Nichols died on Wednesday November 11th, 2009 after a year long illness.

He is a native of Oak Hill, West Virginia and is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Stella Nichols and one brother Morris Nichols.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Rev. Claudette Bess Nichols, two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Bethanne Nichols, Jessup, Maryland and Stephen and Amy Nichols, Decatur, Alabama and two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Michael Campbell, Madison, Alabama and Amanda and Travis Sturgill, Wise, Virginia and eleven grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Nichols and Danny Nichols, one sister, Rosetta Kenlockwho all resIde m Oak Hill, WV Rev. Nichols served the Lord through the Pastoral Ministry for forty years.

He served Churches of God in Chatham Hill and Broadford, Va.; New Martinsville, WV; Huntsville, Al; Scott Depot, WV; Greenville, TN; Summerville, SC; Wise, VA; Princeton, IN; and Christiansburg, VA. All through his pastoral life, Rev. Nichols had a love for people. God allowed many Godly and interesting people to enter his life. He always felt that he was blessed by God more than he was ever able to bless.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home on Friday, November 13, 2009. There will be A Joyous Celebration of the Life of Rev. Max Nichols on Saturday Morning 10:00 AM at the First Church of God 650 Canaan Road, Christiansburg, VA. Rev. Frank Ramey, Pastor St. Andrew Church of God in Camden, SC, Dr. James Bradley, Virginia Church of God State Minister, Rev. Les Horning, Pastor, Mennonite Fellowship, Melissa Campbell, daughter, Stan Perkins, friend, Rev. Fred Hodges, Our Saviour Lutheran Church and Crystal Horning will be participants in this Joyous Celebration. Rev. Nichols will be laid to rest in Huntsville Memory Garden, Huntsville, Alabama, on Officiating this service will be Rev. Jimmy Aycock., Associate Senor Pastor, Asbury UMC, Madison, Alabama. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Carilion Clinic Hospice, 707 Randolph Street, Suite 251, Radford, VA 24141.
