MELISSA LORRAINE SMITH, 39 of Christiansburg, VA passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born February 4, 1977 in Wytheville, VA the daughter of the late Gary James Smith, Sr. and Willie Mae Hale. She was a member of Three Strand and a Leader for the Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline. Melissa was very beloved mother, sister and friend to so many people and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by one daughter, Kasia Smith, Christiansburg, VA; one son, Dariaus Smith; Gaffney, SC; two brothers, Gary James Smith, Jr., Christiansburg, VA and Christopher Haywood, Christiansburg, VA; one grandchild, Tara Celest Rout-Smith, Gaffney, SC; several aunts, uncles and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 6 p.m. at Three Strand with services led by Pastor Tony Johnson. The memorial visitation will be at 5 p.m., 1 hour prior to the service.
