Michael Joseph Sage, born on October 30, 1978, left this world on March 18, 2025. Known for his vibrant spirit and zest for life, Michael embraced every moment with an infectious enthusiasm. He was a devoted family man whose love for his children, Abigail Sage and Kaden Sage, shine brightly in all that he did. His deep affection for his fiancee, Ashley Dull, showcased the warmth and compassion that he extended to those closest to him. 

Michael's dedication to family extended to his mother, Joanie Spangler, and his siblings: sisters Amanda Strickler and Amy Spangler; half-sister Kristy (Dale) Martin; and brother John Mullens. He also cherished his father, Dewey Mullens II, and stepmother, Kathy Mullens, along with his grandfather Dewey Mullens I. Michael was surrounded by a loving extended family, including aunts Jackie (Joseph) Hirst and Janet (Jimmy) Graham, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory close.

Having served in the United States Army, where he dedicated seven years of his life, Michael rose to the rank of Master Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserves. His service was a testament to his character, embodying the values of duty and honor that he upheld throughout his life.

Michael was passionate about sports, playing basketball and football while in school. His beloved dog, Chloebear, was a constant companion, sharing in the joy and laughter that filled his life. 

A graveside service will be held in his honor on April 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Bohon Family Cemetery, located at 4786 Bohon Hollow Road Salem VA 24153, where family and friends are invited to pay their respects. 

Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by a loving family who will continue to celebrate his life and cherish the wonderful memories they shared.
