BLANKENSHIP, MILDRED G., 85, of Shawsville, VA, born on July 18, 1925, passed away quietly on May 17, 2011, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T. H. Blankenship; and her son, Woody Blankenship.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy & husband, Marvin Parker; son, Clyde & wife, Elsie Blankenship; 4 special grandsons, Bruce Robertson, Tony Neece, Mark and David Blankenship; 11 great-grandchildren; and 9 great great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Claudine Turpin.
She loved being a prankster and watching things grow, from her family to her garden.
She was always faithful in her love of the Lord. We know she walks in His garden now.
She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 11 am at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor John Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
