Mildred Roop

Mildred Lucille Boles Roop, 85, of Roanoke, went to Heaven on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Beverly S. Roop; brother, Ivan Boles (CoComo); sons, Michael Roop and Gene Roop. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Roop Turner (Charlie), Robert “Penny” Roop, Kenneth “Leslie” Roop (Diane), and Lonnie Roop; siblings, Rufus “Jay” Boles (Lynda), and Barbara “Bobbie” Hubble (Garland); sister-in-law, Ellease Boles; grandchildren, Crystal Hall, Robert “PJ” Roop, Jr., Michael Roop, Stephanie Bryant, and Byron Roop; 8 great-grandchildren; special nieces, Cathy Berry and Allison Mabry; devoted roommate and friend @ Springtree, Ellen Davis; and former daughters-in-law, Karen Bastian and Ginger Seagle.
Special thanks to the entire staff of Springtree Rehab & Long Term Care for their loving and devoted care of Mildred for over 3 ½ years.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Parkway House of Prayer. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26th at 11 a.m. at Parkway House of Prayer, with Pastor Ray Campbell and Pastor Dave Keep officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Cove Road, Roanoke. Following interment there will be a luncheon at Parkway House of Prayer.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Parkway Christian Academy, 3230 King Street, Roanoke, VA 24012.
