WALTERS, MILDRED LOUISE, age 84, of Elliston, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Born May 17, 1924.
Mildred was a charter member of Seneca Baptist Church, Elliston, and was a retired employee of GE in Salem.
The daughter of the late Noah and Lottie Basham, she was also preceded in death by husband, Willard Aliff and infant Aliff, her brother, James D. Basham and second husband, Richard Walters.
She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Pete Basham, Ward T. and Betty Basham, all of Shawsville, Richard “Cleon” and Shelia Basham, Christiansburg,; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Chick Cline, Shawsville, Dorothy and Ted Perdue, Mount Clair, Carolyn and Tommy Helm of Elliston, VA; also twenty nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to our friends at Good Samaritan Hospice and the Montgomery Regional Hospital Staff for making our sister’s last days so comfortable. She was a loving and faithful sister and will be missed.
The family will receive friend from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the Seneca Baptist Church, Elliston. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31st, at Seneca Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Ken Gray and Rev. John Collins with interment to follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem.
