Nancy Moss Conner, 85, of Christiansburg Va, passed away Thursday, February 28 at Highland Ridge Rehab and Nursing Home in Dublin Va. Nancy was born on May 12, 1933 to Leonard Flournoy (L.F.) Moss, and Eunice Moss, both of Pittsylvania County, Va. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are her loving husband of 34 years, P. Aubrey Conner of Christiansburg, two sons, David Harris and Johnny (Phyllis) Harris, grandson Brandon (Charly) Harris and great granddaughter Emerson Harris.
Also surviving are three stepchildren; Pam, Layne and Chris Conner, step granddaughter Kasey Conner, step grandson Josh (Rachel) Wirt and step great granddaughter Reagan Wirt.
Nancy was a member of Cambria Baptist Church. She worked briefly as store manager for Pic-N-Pay Shoes, but really enjoyed her later job working with the sales team at Duncan Holiday Ford in Blacksburg prior to retirement.
Nancy had a love of horses and enjoyed attending shows featuring Tennessee Walking Horses. She and Aubrey had many adventures during their years together, winters with their friends in Florida, cross country road trips, cruises and bus tours, and especially Friday nights at the Floyd Country Store, flatfooting and enjoying bluegrass music.
The family will receive friends at Horne Funeral Home from 11:30 to 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 3. Funeral services will follow in the Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Olen Gardner and Rev. Keith Crowgey officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens, Stuart Va. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Nancy’s memory to the charity of your choice.
