Nancy Ellen Lipford

Lipford. Nancy Ellen, 70, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was born in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. on December 1, 1944 to the late William Wallace and Nancy Jeffries Wheelock. Nancy spent many years in Broward Co, FLA as a 911 Dispatcher and later retired from Verizon as a 411 Operator. She was an avid bowler, loved to garden and often was found on Sunday watching her favorite team the Redskins. She loved to help others in times of need and was a great friend to all. She will be remembered as a strong loving Christian woman with many interests and enjoyed expanding her horizons every chance she had. She is survived by her son, William Edward Lipford, daughter, Andrea Christine Lipford, and her twin sister, Rachael Wheelock. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 pm conducted by Pastor David Rhudy.
