MATHERLY, NANCY JEAN BETTS BROWN, age 65, of Riner, passed away Friday, December 2, 2005 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
The daughter of the late Daniel and Geraldine Betts of Michigan, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Betts, Michigan, a step-son Richard Brown of West Virginia and a son Jerry Dale Brown of Christiansburg.
She is survived by her husband, Carl B. Matherly; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and James Lowry, Christiansburg; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tammy Brown, Elliston, Johnny R. Brown, Christiansburg, Thomas M. Brown, Riner and Donald Brown, Radford; seven grandchildren, Shawn Lowry, Daniel Lowry, Jeffery Brown, James Brown, Brian Scott Brown all of Christiansburg, Jonathan Brown and Stormey Brown, Elliston; brothers and sisters, Dale Betts, Mt. City, GA, Bobbie Conclin, Cheryl Betts both of Michigan, Linda McCord, Arkansas, and Daniel Betts, Texas; special close friends, Bee Gee Duncan, Shirley C. Taylor both of Radford and many more special friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Sunday evening at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, in the Horne Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard E. Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
