Norman M. Simmons, 83, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Monroe and Elizabeth Simmons; and sisters, Ruby Bishop and Martha Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Darlene Simmons; children whom he loved dearly, Greg Simmons and wife Wilma, Dewayne Simmons and wife Debbie, Beverly Simmons, Kimberly Gabrielson and husband Bruce, and Dreama Stone; grandchildren, Justin (Samantha), Cierra, Kristen, Ashley, Jacob, Chris, Kacey, Tyler, Christopher, Logan, and Forrest; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Tipton, Macie, and Leif; sister, Imagene Epps; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Norman was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an anointed man of God who passed down his unfailing faith to his whole family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
