Higgs, Ora Cox Lester, 98, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 14, 2006.
She was born in Montgomery County on September 11, 1907 to the late Leonard and Lena Cox. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, her husbands, Leslie Lester and Henry L. Higgs, a dear daughter-in-law, Frances Lester, and Rocky, her beloved pet.
She is survived by one son, Harold L. Lester, three granddaughters, Carolyn and Don Akers, Joanie Turman, and Kathy and Steve Thompson, all of Christiansburg, four great-grandchildren, and five great ?great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Randy Morris and Pastor Burrell Baker officiating.
