Patricia Murphy

Pat Murphy, originally from New York City, NY, passed in peace and surrounded by love on Thursday September 20th. Waiting to hold her hand was her loving son Ron. She left on this Earth many people who loved her. Her daughters Donna & Lonnie; grandchildren Joshua, Benjamen, Randy, Seth, and Sommerlea; Her loving sister Linda and her beautiful nieces Nambya & Leala and her great nephews Caelib & Teagen and her great niece, Dylan. She will also be missed by two very special people that she considered her adopted daughters, Lora & Amy.

Pat always had an open heart and ear for her many friends that she adored so very much. Being a Social Worker was part of her fabric. Her position at New Horizon’s as a counselor was close to her heart. Thank you for being in her life and filling her spirit with love. Pat also believed in many causes to support one’s education and community responsibility. Even though Mum loved flowers, she would want you to support your local programs. She appreciated the tireless efforts of volunteers with the American Cancer Society, Hospice, Radford’s Women’s Resource Center and New River Community College were places where her heart was at.

Thank you also to the many volunteers, Doctors, and nursing staff for your loving care and support of our beautiful butterfly. A private service will be held in New York. The family wanted to thank everyone for all of their well wishes and kindness. Thank you also to Horne Funeral Home for their guidance and support in this difficult time.
