Paul Robert Baker, 94, of Christiansburg, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Baker and Rebecca Graham Baker; brothers, Raynard, Ervin, Jesse, and Willy Baker; and sisters, Moneta Carroll, Edith Yates, and Edrie Fisher.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Doris Baker; daughter, Lois Bailey and husband Buddy; grandchildren, Mike Bailey and Amy Taylor; great-grandchildren, Skye McSherry and husband Patrick, McKenzie and Brooklyn Taylor; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Paul had been a member of Cambria Baptist Church for over 50 years and served on many committees. He had also been a member of Christiansburg Baptist Church. The Bakers owned and operated Baker’s Supermarket for 24 years.
Paul and Doris would have celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary on December 18, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his family.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 25, 2017, from 12-1:30 p.m. at Cambria Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m with Rev. Keith Crowgey and Rev. Butch McCarthy officiating. Due to the holidays, interment will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017, meeting at Horne Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to Sunset Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside.
