Young, Pauline Miles, 81, of Riner, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2009. She died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She had a long and courageous battle with diabetes and had been on dialysis for over 14 years.
Pauline was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend that will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She retired from Imperial Reading in Christiansburg, Virginia. She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Riner, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Clemie Miles; her husband, Quentin Young; daughter, Donna Graham; two brothers, Robert and Raymond Miles.
Mrs. Young is survived by two daughters, Linda Young and Judy Young, both of Riner; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and JoAnn Young; three granddaughters, Cynthia and Heather Young, and Shana Sowers and husband, Huston. Also surviving is a grandson and wife, Lucas and Amanda Scaggs; a great granddaughter, Odessa Sowers; great grandson, Levi Scaggs; two brothers and sister-in-law, John and Beulah Miles, Louis and Pat Miles; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Doug Smock; sister-in-law, Evelyn Miles and special friends, Dickie Garber and Judy Keiffer.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009 at Horne Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Waller officiating. Interment will follow in Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery.
