Peggy Conner Trump, 80, of Pilot, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 28, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Myrtle Underwood; her first husband, D. L. Conner; and her brother, Calvin Coolidge Underwood. Peggy is survived by her husband, Charlie Trump; step-sons and wives, Ricky and Tracy, David and Patty, and Mark and Donna Trump; special step-grandson, Tayt Trump; step-granddaughters, Katie and Ellie Trump; sister, Emma Underwood Fallin; very special niece, Frances Rigney; nephew, Ed Fallin and his children, Parker, Hanna, Nicole, and Kiefer Fallin; special great-nephew and niece, Hayden and Paige Rigney; sisters-in-law, Ruby and Joe Sowers, and Louise and John Hutchins; as well as special friends, Donnie and Renee Worrell, Linda and Gerald Holt, Gwinn Eanes, and Mary and Bob Cole.
Peggy attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Riner and was retired from VDOT with over 40 years of service. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society at the Discovery Shop and was an avid gardener who loved flowers and being outdoors. Peggy was a classy, strong-willed woman with strong Christian roots. All who met her were touched by her generosity and compassion. The whole family was truly blessed to have had Peggy in their lives and be a part of their family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Fred Austin and Pastor James Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
