Phillip 'Bubby' Eugene Lytton

October 13, 1955 — April 26, 2021

Phillip ‘Bubby’ Eugene Lytton, 65, of Christiansburg, went home with his heavenly Father on Monday, April 26, 2021 after a courageous 12 year hard fight against cancer. Bubby touched many lives in his journey of life, leaving family and friends heartbroken and devastated by his passing, but given comfort in knowing he is suffering and hurting no more.
Bubby is survived by his loyal, loving wife of 44 years, whom he loved and cherished deeply and who was always by his side, Karen S. Lytton of Christiansburg; son, Brian Lytton (Karen Underwood) of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Brady Kirtner, Piper Lytton, both of Christiansburg, and Gage and Chase Acord of New York.
Bubby was raised in the Walton Community with sisters and brothers, Edith ‘Poodle’ and Kenneth Shepherd, Vickie and Ricky Akers, all of Radford, Dennis and Jo Ann Lytton of Christiansburg, Alicia and Don Leonard, Kathy and Tony Jones, all of Radford, and Kenneth Lytton; many nieces and nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Marie Simpkins of Floyd; as well as uncle, Bobby and Nancy Akers.
Bubby was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandy L. Acord; mother, Ocie ‘Maw Maw’ Lytton; and father, Leslie E. Lytton.
Bubby was a loving husband, dad, brother, and if you looked up Paw Paw in the dictionary you’d find his picture! Bubby worked at New River Industries 30 years and at Volvo Trucks of Dublin. You couldn’t find anyone who worked harder, always had to be doing something. Bubby had a deep passion for the game of sports. His favorite teams were the Pittburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Reds. Bubby mentored in nearly three generations of kids and grandkids in about any sport there was. He loved being around the kids to watch them play and grow up. Bubby loved the outdoors, playing games with the kids and family and he loved having family gatherings and cookouts on the back porch. He always took a lot of pride and hard work keeping his grass mowed – always looking its best.
Bubby loved sitting in his chair on the front porch looking over the fresh cut grass and trees, watching and listening to the birds and deer and all the other wildlife, saying ‘This is just beautiful!’ And then Bubby would say ‘With this being so beautiful, I can only imagine how beautiful Heaven is!’ Bubby will always leave a deep impression on all who knew and loved him and on all the young kids that was placed in his life. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 5-8 p.m. at Walton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 11 .m. at the Church, with Rev. Lee Sarver officiating. Interment to follow in the Lytton Family Cemetery, Christiansburg.
The family would like to thank the kids and families of the Christiansburg baseball teams that have shown such kindness during this time.

God saw he was getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around him and whispered, “Come with Me.”
With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
