Phillip Gregory Criner, 49, of Christiansburg, passed away at home on Saturday, April 2, 2016. He was born October 21, 1966.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Luther Criner of Christiansburg and Evelyn Jeannette Spradlin Sleigh of Lynchburg; grandparents, Haynes and Almena Criner of Christiansburg, Leona Spradlin Faw of Walker Town, NC; step-father-in-law, Sherman Clark of Dublin; and uncle, Kenny Criner of Radford. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Vickie Renee Criner of Christiansburg; mother-in-law, Linda Clark of Dublin; step-daughter, Amy Thompson of Radford; four step-grandchildren; half-brothers, Mike Mason and wife Brandy of Appamatox, Malcolm Mason and wife Brenda of Rustburg; uncles, Charlie Criner and wife Debbie of Pulaski, David Criner and wife Lana of Christiansburg, Mark Criner of Christiansburg, Chuckie Spradlin and wife Donna of Blue Ridge; aunts, Dolly Moore and husband Sam of Floyd, Doris Smith and husband Bobby of Blacksburg, Patsy Whitlock (Gene Elliott) of Walker Town, NC; two nephews; many cousins; and family friend, Vickie Pinard.
Greg was employed by Montgomery County PSA as a waste water operator, then as a Montgomery County Sheriff Deputy, and later by R.A.A.P. (BAE Systems).

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Keith Weaver, Steve and Mary Lou Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
