Phyllis I. Bowles

Phyllis I. Bowles, 81, of Shawsville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. She was retired from Hubbell Lighting in Christiansburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Eugene and Oveda Bryant Wheeling; her husband of 41 years, Essie I. Bowles; and sisters, Kathy Nester and Loretta Furrow. Phyllis is survived by her children, Junior Dalton (Grace) of Christiansburg, and Sharon Ratcliffe (Ronnie) of Pembroke; grandchildren, Tim Ratcliffe (Teresa) of Christiansburg, Jessica Ratcliffe of Blacksburg, Norman Dalton of Christiansburg; great-grandchildren, Whitney Hite and Natalie Dalton; as well as sisters, Juanita Dowdy, Levon Furrow, Dorothy Bowles, Ruby Lutz, and Margaret Hall.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 17, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Wes Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
