Reba Mitchell Duncan, 95, of Christiansburg, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 1:00 a.m. She was born on October 30, 1919, to the late Elbert J. and Clara Ada Smith Mitchell of Indian Valley, Floyd, VA. Reba lived her last years in Skyline Manor Nursing Home in Floyd. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Fred (Speedy) Randolph Duncan, who passed away on May 21, 2009; and two sons, Richard Eugene Duncan and Larry Randolph Duncan.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jean Duncan Gay of Roanoke, and Shirley Ann Harless Sweeney and husband, Vernon, of Christiansburg; two grandsons, Keith W. Harless and wife Diane of Rocky Mount, and Kevin S. Harless and wife Sherrie of Roanoke; one granddaughter, Joy Sweeney Perfater of Radford; six great-grandchildren, Chris Harless, Brandon Harless, Abigail Harless, Jessica Perfater, Jordan Perfater, and Jasmine Perfater; two great-great-granddaughters, Alysa Harless and Lily Harless; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Skyline Manor Nurisng and Rehab Center for all their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, 2015, from 12-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held directly after at 2 p.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Thomas Pegram officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
