THORNTON, REBECCA MAGDALENE (Becky), 46 of Christiansburg, formerly of Shawsville, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at her mother?s home in Christiansburg after a long illness.

Becky graduated from Shawsville High School and went on to work several jobs. She attended Open Door Baptist Church when she was able to go. Becky was preceded in death by her precious grandfather and grandmother, Fulton and Ruth Quesenberry and a loving aunt, Roxie Williams.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving mother, Frances Gardner and step-father, Paul Gardner, Christiansburg; sister, Ruth Ellen Carroll and her husband, Brian Carroll; a special and loving niece Laura Anne Carroll; step sister, Teresa Gardner; special uncles and aunts, Woody Quesenberry and wife, Karen of Revanna, Ohio; Wayne Quesenberry and wife, Reda of Shawsville; Janet and husband, Frank Quesenberry. She is also survived by many cousins, friends and relatives.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Johnston and Rev. Ben Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow Den Hill Cemetery, Montgomery County, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Open Door Baptist Church at 3995 Roanoke Street, P. O. Box 2524, Christiansburg, VA 24068. The family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
