REBEKAH ANNE MARTIN
December 2, 1991 – January 20, 2018
Rebekah Anne Martin, 26, born December 2, 1991, beloved daughter of Doug and Kathy Martin of Christiansburg, went home to rest in the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Rebekah joins her Uncle “Marty” Lewis Martin, Jr.; and her grandfather, Grover “Popie” Thomas; and many other loved ones awaiting her in Heaven.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Lewis and Joyce Martin, and Robertine “Nena” Thomas; aunts and uncles, Diana and Randall Thomas, Joyce and Randy Creed, Jan Martin, Joyce “Em” Thomas; cousins, Dennis Landry, Holly Landry and her children, Bryanna Landry and Aiyana Obenchain, Amanda and Mirsad Imamovic and their children, Issabelle, Zaccheo, and Ezekiel, and Brett Martin; her best friend forever, Kea Valentine; as well as her church family at Life Song Chapel; and most recently, the many friends she made while attending Wilson Work Force in Fishersville, VA.
Rebekah’s warm smile represented the beautiful person she was. She had a nurturing and caring heart, full of love for all her family and friends. Rebekah valued and enjoyed the children in her life. She always had time to listen, encourage, and help someone in need. Rebekah enjoyed life and loved to laugh. She had a great appreciation for music and was gifted in writing.
Rebekah loved her Dad deeply and her Mom dearly and had a very close family bond with them. And they shared their love abundantly with her.
Though Rebekah left this earth unexpectedly and is missed beyond words, may comfort be found in the ways she ministered to others and through her passion for Christ.
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21 NKJV.
Services will be held at Horne Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Philip C. Nordstrom officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home.
