Robert M. Gearheart
June 25, 1932 — October 28, 2016
Robert M. Gearheart, 84, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Virgie Gearheart; brother, Basil Gearheart; and sister, Rachel Flinchum. Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Margaret Gearheart; children, Robert D. Gearheart and wife Rosanna, Donna G. Dabney and husband, Dean; grandchildren, Robert Jeremiah Gearheart, Heather G. Self, April M. Dow, Michael A. McCoy III, Mathew C. Dabney, and Mallary B. Dabney; and great-grandchildren, Mason Self, Blair Self, Harper Self, Robert Grayson Gearheart, Bryson Dow, Gavin Dow, and Landon McCoy.
Robert served his country in the Korean War. He was a public servant serving the Town of Christiansburg for 35 years, and was a fireman for Christiansburg for 23 years. He was a man dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Todd Hallinan and Pastor Leon Alley officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
