Robert Guy “Bob” Overstreet, Jr., 90, of Christiansburg went to be with his Lord and wife on May 7, 2016.
Bob was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was an entrepreneur of many businesses including the Christiansburg Locker Plant, Western Auto in Salem and Speedy Food Mart in Christiansburg among others. He was an active member of St. Thomas Anglican Church of Roanoke and St. Peter the Apostle Anglican Catholic Church in Christiansburg.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Christine P. Overstreet; parents, Robert G. Overstreet, Sr. and Eloise Overstreet; brother, Tom Overstreet and sister-in-law, Betty Overstreet. He is survived by his children, Dawn Overstreet, Libby and Stephen Ferrari, Bobby and Angela Overstreet, Cindy Moser, Becky Bolte and Susan Overstreet; sister, Sandra Overstreet; sisters-in-law, Tootie Newman, Lois Adkins, Jean Covington and Nola Patsel; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends.
There will be a graveside service with military honors on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Burial Park with Father Don Poff officiating.
